Wim Demeere started training in the martial arts at age 13 with Judo and Ju Jitsu, and never stopped. For 35 years, he has studied a variety of arts and self-defense systems and continues to do so. He discovered Practical Tai Chi Chuan over 20 years ago with his teacher, Patrick Couder, and was intrigued by its effectiveness for self-defense, while not relying on pure strength. From that time on, he dedicated himself to the style and it quickly became the main component of his martial practice.
During his competitive career, he won numerous tournaments, became 3x National Champion, won Pushing Hands tournaments and he coached the Belgian National Sanshou Team for several years.
As a Personal Trainer with more than 25 years of experience, he has taught thousands of individuals and groups his knowledge of martial arts, self-defense, conditioning and much more, in both private classes and seminars. Wim is also a successful author of many instructional books and videos.
