This continues the sword form instruction and introduces a new category; hand form drills. These drills help in getting many repetitions of a movement or sequence in rapid order. You can use them to experiment with nuances and also practice mirror form.

July 2025 updates

Here is an overview of the new videos that are available for July 2025:

  • Sword form – 05 Turn back and stab to Point to the trousers with the sword: Only one video this month but it shows three different techniques. I’ve found that students struggle with these at first, especially Hanging the golden bell upside down. So I added several repetitions in multiple angles to give lots of detail. I advise spending a fair bit of time training this part. It will make the rest a bit easier.
  • Q&A 54 – How to imitate your teacher: It is often said you should “imitate your teacher” as a beginning student. In this video, I offer some nuances as to what that means.
